History

History

Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) was born in 1994 as an educational institution based on creativity and innovation, oriented to train future professionals, who will be the protagonists of the transformation of our country. It was created by Law 26276, dated January 5, 1994, and since September 2004 it is part of Laureate International Universities, the largest network of private universities in the world.

Today, it is the first global university in Peru, occupying the first place in Internationality* for eight consecutive years. It has 56 undergraduate programs in the schools of Hospitality and Tourism Administration, Architecture, Contemporary Arts, Health Sciences, Human Sciences, Communications, Law, Design, Economics, Education, Engineering, Business and Psychology. In addition, it has more than 30 current graduate programs.

In 2016, it became the first and only Peruvian university to obtain institutional accreditation by WASC Senior College and University Commission, an international institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), which accredits universities such as Stanford, UC Berkeley or Caltech, all of them recognized among the best in the world.
